Now this is a great photograph.

Good composition: I love the symmetry in the chairs, the briefcase and tiles, with the *slight* off angle of the person to give it some interest. The strong vertical of the tie in a bright color is a nice detail.

Great light: it's fairly normal and natural looking for the setting, thought a bit dark, which gives it a nice subdued mood and more emotional impact. Yet the highlights are contrasty enough to create some drama in the face and the hands. And the spot on the wall draws you attention immediately to the head, which might be seen as a bit of a gimmick, but for me it's not a problem.

It all makes sense. All the aspects (composition, clothing, colors, pose/expression) reinforce each other to create a dramatic, first-rate portrait, or editorial illustration, or whatever the image might be used for.
